The top medallion depicts Ardhanarishwar, the composite form representing the equal union of Shiva and Parvathy; the middle shows Ganesha, their first son and remover of obstacles; and the bottom shows Karthikeyan, also known as Subramanian, the god of valour. Each medallion is hand painted in Kerala
